WELCOME TO THE MPA LIBRARY
The Mounds Park Academy Library is a beautiful facility that supports lower, middle and upper school students and faculty. The library staff strives to meet the information needs of the MPA community, support the curriculum, and encourage reading as a life-long skill. The library includes a wide range of print and non-print resources, many of them accessible from home.
The Lower School Library Program is a comprehensive program that involves literature, information and imagination. It includes weekly classes for grades PreK through 4, where students focus on reading, research and literacy. Students listen to stories from a variety of children’s authors and learn how to use print and online tools from the library webpage. Library skills are taught in conjunction with classroom assignments.
Middle and Upper School students use the MPA Library for research, reading and studying. The library staff collaborates with teachers, both formally and informally to ensure students are prepared to learn in an everchanging world of technology. The library website provides access to high quality resources where students learn how to find, evaluate and ethically use information.
